Could Christopher Nolan Be The Best To Ever Do It?

I can watch Scorsese flicks all day. The same one over and over I mean.

I can't say that about Nolan's films. Not yet.

But he is getting there.

I love Nolan's films to death but....NO.

Maybe after he releases another ten good-to-great films, he can be in the discussion.

You are trippin'. He is very good and super hot right now. But you can't call him top 5 ever. There are so many more director's beside Nolan that have done way more. There are director's from France, Italy, etc. Try watching Hitchcock, Kubrick, Woody Allen, Federico Fellini, Ingmar Bergman, Akira Kurosawa, Jean-Luc Godard, and so many more. You calling Nolan the best director ever is like calling Olive Garden the best place for Italian food. Expand your horizons and learn a little more about film before you make such an ignorant statement and crown the best director ever.

Only time will tell... In the end I think Nolan will finish his career as the best, but for now Scorsese holds the GOAT title.

And as already mentioned there's a number of directors with careers better than Nolan's.

Nolan's definitely putting out better movies than Scorsese right now imo...

Inception>Shutter Island

TDK>Departed

Shutter Island and The Departed aren't even Scorsese's best films. You can't compare those movies to the Dark Knight and Inception seeing that is Nolan's finest work to date. Casino imo craps on both of those movies.

And I haven't seen Momento nor have I seen The Prestige and Inception but Insomnia wasn't that great of a film. To say he is hitting 1.00 is kind of an exaggeration. And the dude has only made 7 movies when compared to Scorsese's 40+ movies.

I do like a Nolan and loved Memento,

Insomnia, and Prestige but have yet to see Inception but you can't his is the BEST EVER. The two BEST EVER are Hitchcock & Kubrick.

If your just talking about today there is Darren Aronofsky, Paul Thomas Anderson, David Fincher, Steven Spielberg, Clint Eastwood, Martin Scorsese and Quentin Tarantino.

I really don't think you can say he is the greatest ever since his only been doing it for a little over 10 years. To be honest I really don't respect opinion anymore for saying such a dumb statement.
You probably got a little too excited after seeing Inception.

Nolan wouldn't even say he is the best ever.

Saying Nolan is the best ever is worse than saying Avatar had a good story/plot.

Cliff Notes: No & your dumb for thinking that.

I don't even have these discussions anymore. Anytime something is hot atm people hype it up as the GOAT. Wayne, Drake, Nolan etc.

^^^I am glad you mentioned Clint Eastwood. He is a pretty consistent movie director whether you like his stuff or not and his work speaks for itself with the Oscar awards and nominations. And yes, Tarantino whether hyped or not has a pretty decent track record. I feel like when Inglorious Bastards came out, people were saying exactly the same thing that people are saying about Christopher Nolan.

And to just put in....I am not a huge fan of Christopher Nolan but even when The Dark Knight came out and there was so much hype on it, I had my doubts and the movie actually delivered. I guess I am a fan of films that kill off characters and I am glad Maggie Gyllenhaal's role was taken out.
