Cuz you either gonna get robbed for everything you "saved"(by the cops or other enemies), ya crib gonna get burned down along with ya money, etc.

My definition of "hood" is a little different than most of you. Im from Poland (Europe) and lived in the projects here most of my life. When my momwas watching some stuff on TV about LA hoods and cats was complaining how hard it is for them, cuz they got nothing, she said actually something like"WHAT is he talking about? They are rich!", so that alone should get you thinking.
I learned to be prepared all the time for anything and to get mine by all means, cuz the man next to you is doing exactly the same, also to be loyal to friendsand family, but let them know that once they cross you there is no coming back.

When it comes to street life. Stay away from it.
When it comes to violence. I know dudes hate "snitching" but if you witness something. Speak up about it. Somebody lost a son, daughter, mother,father, sister or brother. There is no crime with being a witness. FTR snitching isn't what its made to be in the hood. Google snitching and its rootmeaning.
Don't say once what you can't say twice. Basically don't even gossip or touch too much on other people unless its somebody you 100% trust. I'veseen it so many times. Dudes/Girls will hear something and it burns their ears until they can tell someone.
Don't tell too many or the wrong people what you got. Keep it to yourself and stay to yourself.
Leave people in relationships/dudes baby mother alone. Its not worth the drama. Somebody got shot/shot at on a metro bus in the summer because of this. Trigerman was young too, like 14-16.
Stray away from the drug scene and shady people.

That's real... I got shot 2 weeks ago at point blank range by a dude who tried to rob me at a crowded gas station. The bullet hit me an inch away from myspine. This dude lives 3 blocks away from me, and didn't even have a mask on, which further reinforces that he didn't care about his life or mine. Intotal, he got away with 40 dollars, some netflix DVDs, and a starbucks gift card. There were hella witnesses too, buddy just popped me and ran. I didn'thave a strap on me, but you already know I keep that thang on me now at all times, I don't care if I'm in class or on the toilet. Life is too short.
