Never turn off-thats what hibernating is for-it was explained to me that like a car,its uses more gas stop and go than cruise but cars like computers last either way.

I've heard it's bad to turn your laptop on and off often.

i generally turn it off when i go to sleep but sometimes i leave it running all day. i once left it running (not even on standby) for an entire week

Only when I'm out of town do I completely shut it down.

Suspend when I'm home but not using it, hibernate when I'm away from the house.
