Is Being Left Handed Hereditary?

My sister is the only one in our family who is left-handed. My parents tried to make her switch to righty, didn't work

i highly doubt it. im left handed but no one else in my family is.

I write with my left hand. I can write with my right as well, but I write faster/better with the left.
I eat with my left and I can eat with my right too, but more with the left.
I throw/punch/shoot with my right.
I guess I'm ambidextrous.

My brother and I are lefties, so is my gramps (but was forced to write with the right hand). Auntie is a lefty too. Everyone else is a righty.
