This is wild. I think they should be allowed to serve.

The only room I give Trump on this is if the soldier is on active duty and they decide to change sexes and want the military to foot the sex change bill. They can go on unpaid leave or something and then have to reenlist and qualify for duty as their new sex. But if they arent doing combat then I think they should be allowed back in without a bunch of hassle, I guess.

I remember reading an article about requirements to have X amount of counseling with a psychiatry before the surgery was even signed off on. I doubt it'd be deemed cosmetic. Although, as crazy as it is, I've seen chicks in Texas talk about how little breast have affected their mental state to the point of depression and used that as a door to have the army pay for implants.

I think a lot of you are missing the point. This sentiment, for whatever bizarre reason is being repeated over and over.

Pay attention. He said they wouldn't be allowed to serve in any capacity. Stop focusing on combat. Half of transgendered people are ALREADY not allowed in combat roles because women are not allowed in combat roles. So people who were born women but identify as males wouldn't be fighting anyways.

This issue is bigger than combat people. He's not allowing them to serve period. In any capacity.

have you ever served? you clearly have no clue what you are talking about. Women are allowed to serve in combat roles and the military is all about being ready to deploy for COMBAT at the end of the day you need to be ready for combat.

Ima a vet and i dont care if they serve just like gays in the military couldnt express that they were gay but they still served.

The only problem i have with it is if they are allowed there shouldnt be any accommodations to the current regulations or policies just for them. If they want to identify as a girl than they need to follow all the current regulations that are out there for females and vice versa.

Yes I've already corrected myself. Women are now allowed in combat roles, however the process is ongoing to actually open up those roles and get women into them.

Millions of Americans already need those drugs without ever having seen combat. I'm pretty sure those with PTSD may also have some issues performing.

No issue with that per se. Though I do believe we could've avoided a lot of these costs had we never engaged in unnecessary conflict.

Also do you know alot of women who are willing want to join the military let alone a combat job that type of women is a rare breed. Until you have served you will never understand how the military truly operates inside all you see is the dumb stuff on the news happening which scares people away from the military.

Four years ago? Now you're just misrepping facts. It wasn't until 2016 that women actually started filling those roles. The ban was lifted in 2013. The process is still ongoing.
