I gotta see this again...

Kylo actually “finished what he (Vader) started.”

For two trilogies, Vader was trying to get someone to help him defeat the Emperor, Kylo had that realized. The grandson over threw the Supreme Leader, became ruler of the galaxy.

That’s ]^{%{* incredible.

Was there any reason to believe what kylo told her about her parents when he was trying to manipulate her to come to the dark side of the force? I can't remember if there was another part that said who her parents were.

I don't believe it. Kylo Ren is my fave character but he lies.

Guys it's okay of Rey's not a skywalker. We all saw from TFA, she's been exiled for most of her life. That whole era of solitude has made her into a powerful being, which tapped her into the force. Her being curious about her origins made her very powerful, because it provided her a drive, but with all that power it does require balance. They alluded to balance the whole time from the trailers to the movie, which was why we kept seeing characters about to jump ship to the other team. Your skywalker is Ben, and he will turn come episode 9, it's Rotj present day. We're gonna get the same outcomes, with different stories. And don't complain if that happens, because it's bound to happen he's a skywalker, you're gonna get the same story because he has the blood. Imo there was a lot of plot that was jammed into a 2.5hr movie. The time frame couldn't do this story line justice. I mentioned earlier how I couldn't careless about Finn and Rose's arc, but it made total sense in terms of rebuilding the rebels and providing balance to the first order. We even saw the whole irony, that the rebels and first order are the extremes, and the casino planet were like ordinary beings just going about their lives and enjoying life outside the war. Now looking back, I do want to watch this movie again, it's pretty deep and a complete mirror of society today which is complete controversy.

Gotta hope that Kylo was legit lying but I don’t think that’s how it was written...Broom boy shows us that they’ve established there is nobodies with the same abilities as Rey all through the galaxy...They want her and force sensitive people to be nothing special...

Them dark side dudes have been known to do that kind of thing. He was leading the conversation, so it's hard to tell. With old snokey gone, in ep 9 kylo is going off the chain. No old teacher, no new teacher, just a tortured guy with a lot of hate.

No reason at all. He may be right, or they are throwing us off the scent until 9.

I worked with a few SW experts who contributed and maintain Wookieepedia and we all loved SW: TLJ!

First off, I'm a huge fan of Reylo. I rewatched TFA and I saw a lot of setting up for them being connected, and not just on a Force bond way. This is Anakin / Padme's story but backwards.

I think Rey will turn only to save Ben. She lets him call him "Ben" and he does not correct her. He had so many opportunities to kill her but he didn't. She is his balance. For Rey, I think she knows that she's neither good nor evil. I think this is the beginning of the Grey Jedi. http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Gray_Jedi

I think a lot of people are upset because this movie truly marked the end of the Skywalker arc. There's no definite "dark" vs "light" or "evil" vs "good" theme like in the original Trilogy. With Luke gone, and Carrie Fisher being lost (RIP), it sets up this new SW universe that anyone can be a Jedi and they can walk the line of light and dark.

My guess is: Reylo is canon, they'll have twins. My favorite ship has sailed!

I don't mind the end of the Skywalkwr lineage. I don't mind the Grey Jedi and I don't mind not having a true protagonist and antagonist.

The **** that pisses me off is the way Luke's character is written. I don't agree with what they did with Luke...I know I've said it like 10 times on here, but it's like finding out Santa ain't real as a kid

So here’s the thing I think most are forgetting from TFA. Remember when someone said the droid got away with Finn and some girl. Why did Kylo get so upset? Rey story is not finished. Or they just said f it and we don’t remember thy part. Either way I wish she was a skywalker but if she’s not I’m not going to go complain. I just don’t like them playing with the force mythology. It takes time and practice to use it.

I think it is based on the convo when he was trying to get him to come over to the dark side, like at the end of ep 3 when the emperor told anakin he killed padme to get him to fully commit.

So, uhhhhhhhh.....about Kylo telling Rey her parents are nobodies....... :nerd: Anyone ever heard of misdirection? You guys really don't see a bigger setup? She's just ridiculously strong in the Force cuz junkers? Pretty damn strong connection between her and Kylo, almost like they're.......
Wow, just wow CP.

You still trying to keep this Rey Solo nonsense alive?

It was already poor story telling if that was the case for TFA but its even worse now since Carrie is no longer with us. So what the big reveal will be between her and Kylo? No scenes with Leia at all in this flick. I mean damn at this point what does Kylo even get out of lying? Saying hey you're my sister, join me is a little more compelling than I don't think you're a nobody, rule by my side as we put aside our pasts

If JJ pulls that **** for IX I may boycott dude. Cuz at this point it's lost all story relevance and is just desperate.

Like just imagine for a sec if Vader was killed in ESB and Luke found out in RotJ.

 So ****ing random but dope :pimp:

Mad force sensitive.
This is true. He's like R2 on steroids.

Hand waved away as comedy but dude was doing some wild ****

Imo better than 7 but a little too long. Action and twists and surprises makes this movie enjoyable to watch again. But

wth was that scene when Leia flew back to the ship after she was sucked into outer space. That was a weird scene. That was comic book superhero like imo that wasn’t needed.

????

There has ALWAYS been "nobodies" that are force sensitive. You think all the kids in the Jedi Temple were related?

Kids galaxy wide are born with force abilities, finding them, training them, and tapping into those abilities is the goal of the Jedi. It has always been that way. Hell, George himself screwed up his own story by waiting until Luke was 18 to train, then going back and trying to say Anakin was too old to train, and he was 8.

Jedi are always searching for those strong in the force to train as future Jedi. Broom boy proves nothing, he's just another example of beings out there and Luke saying "He's not the Last Jedi"

You're implying Kylo knows. I'm not. I don't think he does. I just think he's lying, period. Maybe they aren't brother and sister, maybe she's just random and he loves her (or will love her) I don't know. Maybe she's not Han's daughter, just Leia's. ( :nerd: ) There's plenty of angles, I don't just have to buy his word that she's nobody, even tho he could be telling the truth.

When Kylo has his shirt off, does he have a hole or wound in his side from Chewie's crossbow? I legit can't remember seeing it.

Nah he didn’t.

Cp, were people this mad when the emperor died without putting up a fight and getting a proper backstory?

Couldn't really see his left side, but you could definitely see the Lightsaber scar on his right collarbone area, which extended down from his facial scar.

The disappointment is pouring in from around the world. This film isn’t “divisive” anymore, it’s just bad. I had a friend call me last night at 2 am after just getting out the theater and the first thing he says is “what the **** did they do to Star Wars?!” in a horrified voice  dude is one of the biggest Star Wars fans I’ve ever met. Darth Vader cosplay, constantly bringing up KOTOR, the works. It killed me that this film broke him up like this and it’s doing it to so many of us. I remember episode 1 and the “pain” and discontent people had over it but people at the least still had hope and were curious Jake Lloyd would evolve into Space Hitler. This is different though. This feels so much more personal. Between the scene of the saber moving before killing Snoke and Luke not creating footprints I’m inclined to think that Rian Johnson just got overwhelmed by this film. Why are you showing hints at to what is going to be revealed in the next 20-30 seconds? He didn’t really know what to deliver in a Star Wars film. Even Kylo and Rey vs the Praetorian Guards didn’t feature the choreographed finesse of a lightsaber fight. I’m convinced he was a “passing” Star Wars fan. Knows the pop culture aspects but didn’t really know the details. One of those dudes that came up saying “Dark” Vader up until a few years ago  it makes his decisions about this film make more sense. He thought the deconstruction of Star Wars was gonna come off as funny and epic. Boy was he wrong.

Check this video... trust me
