The NBA Draft Thread

At this point all the top of the 2017 class has to do is show up and make a few buckets and they'll surpass last year's rookie year

what a terrible draft

Come on Danny...work your magic and land Porzingis.

Future draft pick + Tyler Zeller for Porzingis

Knicks will probably bite.

The NBA game is significantly fatser, with far better athletes, and far better defensive schemes. This is why people point to his performances against teams like Kentucky. The inability to get what he wanted against Bam for example is very alarming. His inability to really take someone off the bounce is also alarming. That NEEDS to happen in order for him to get his shot off at the next level. Getting your shot off doesn't necessarily mean it's always going to get blocked, you have to be able to create enough space to get yourself a good look. If he can't then he's going to be useless
Yea I agree with you on his ball handling/penetration, I think that's his biggest weakness and what he needs to improve the most.

But even with his rudimentary handle, he was able to get his shot off (and make shots)  against Bam and other NBA level defenders.

I just think people are worried about the shot itself, when it's actually his handle and inability to create space that is the real issue.

It was known the 2016 draft class was weak, it was pretty 1 transcendent player in Ben Simmons with nobody else in the draft that could be a #1 option and most likely not even a #2 option

It seems that you feel you know the answer already.

Regarding "coaches figuring it out", you do realize NBA players are significantly larger, faster, smarter defenders, right?
so NOT a single college player that played against him was fast enough or bigger or smarter enough to take advantage of his shot?

Yes but don't forget some of the gushing over certain players that looking back now is almost comical. Case in point the supposed offers from teams climbing over each other draft week to acquire Kris Dunn because he was such a stud. One season was all it took to see he is going to struggle to even stay in the league in a few years he was that bad.

Josh Jackson did not work out for the Celtics on Tues, multiple sources tell ESPN. Two days before the draft, BOS still hasn't seen him.

Tatum to the C's.

Gotta think Ainge makes a deal on Thursday for Butler especially with the retorts about Chicago being enamored with JJ. Otherwise this is a clown show for the Celtics.

Yeah, seems like Tatum is going to Boston. Suns rejoice

Tatum is such an ainge move

If they trade the pick or whatever for butler.. idk. Better get white Paul George too to make it all worth it

Only thing that will make this draft PERFECT is if the Lakers select Fox at #2....Celtics select Tatum at #3

According to C Ford, Jackson won't workout for celtics unless Celtics keep their pick and commit to him.

So that makes two of the top three prospects refusing workouts with the Celtics. I'm not sure if Isaac has either

Top prospects want playing time. Getting drafted by the Celtics you're gonna be a bench player getting 20-25 min a game max
