do you think people would take advantage of a no-ask mental health issue environment? if yes, how would us as a society find a measure against it? also, this is only for instances outside of professional sports.

imo a lot of the media is trash, people say it's part of the job but does it actually have to be?

if someone doesn't want to talk after a game who are we to say no that's their job when in reality they already finished "work" when the game stopped.

places like espn and fox have dedicated shows where they just bash athletes all day long but if tou choose not to speak to them your the bad guy? nah that **** is wack.

I'm saying there aren't any counters. As my first comment alluded, there is no set bullet points on what Mental Health is. It's still very new in that regard. We're freaking out over a nonexistent boogeyman.

In a general sense (not talking about said event) in regards to the individual being the only who can judge would be highly flawed. Just quickly thinking about it:

1. there's a reason why we have specialists/experts
2. the individual might be too close to the situation to accurately assess it

I can't answer "who" should address but it is an issue as it pertains to these athletes whether they are stating mental health and avoiding interviews/stepping away from events or choosing not to partake ie: "I'm just here so I don't get fined".

Especially those "Debate" shows.

But those shows are generally the most watched so ESPN/FSN will always refer to the metrics when people claim they need to be changed.

I recorded the Gymnastics Finals but haven't watched it yet. Out of the loop, don't know what happened to Biles. But damn, she hasn't lost a Major competition in 8 years.

To go a step further, post game "journalist" and their idiotic questions. Some of which fuel those debate shows. Those journalist are never held accountable. Javale Mcgee was just asked if his mom was "still with us" alluding that she might be dead very nonchalantly during an interview (For no reason). It's things like that that the media gets away with and athletes are expected to "deal with it". Can't be mad when SOME find a loophole to avoid that crap.
