Trying to prove my friend that marijuana is not addictive.

This ^^^

Marijuana users suffer from dependency, not addiction.  Tell your friend not to do it...and you should quit.

I seen this also, why tho?

People with addictive personalities will probably get addicted to weed.
But chemically, Marijuana is less addictive than coffee.
And lmao @ the mini D.A.R.E, officers in this thread, talking about addicts and crap....read a book.

How would you feel if I asked you to quit the internet for a week, month, year? And then if you didn't I would then proceed to snidely make comments about you being addicted to the internet while insinuating it is comparable to a alcohol/meth/cocaine addiction.
This.

a lot of you other guys are talking about stuff you do not know..at all.

Will power, maturity, intestinal fortitude. Get some.

All you gotta do is stop. As easy it was to get high, it should be the same to put down the bong. We all go through our phases, but the ones who get insomnia are chiefing way too much and too often. To say marijuana is addictive would be like saying Eli is the greater Manning.

its not physically addictive. but it can be mentally addictive. ive been smoking since for 7 years now and ive quit for a year (didnt bother me much) quit again for a couple months. i like getting high but then again if i really want to. i can just stop easy. sure it bothers me once in a while but definitely not any close to the point i could say i was battling a "addiction"

it definitely isn't, i quit 3 months ago for job reasons and had no problems quitting. i want to smoke from time to time but it isn't a struggle i can easily choose not to smoke if i want. i'm definitely going start again though once i can

weed is the most non addictive drug IMO, alcohol and cigs is up there with crack , H, and E, all those are extra addictive, weed is easy to quit

I used to pretty consistently throughout high school. One year it was a daily occurrence, and I failed my only class ever due to my attendance (I had a B or so in classwork/tests, the teacher just wanted to be a **$@% and decided that my 10-30 minutes in class didn't warrant enough "participation.")

After that I limited it to like 2 or 3 times a month. now I'm at about once a month. I'll quit eventually, because I doubt I'll be able to get where I want to go professionally if I continue.

It all comes down to how much you want to quit. Usually people don't have to because it's relatively cheap and easy to get a hold of, and it offers an escape from a miserable world.

Hoonestly, say whaat you want about marijuana not being addictive. My friends who smoke smoke several times every single day and NEVER stop. I smoke cigs on the weekend, but I buy a pack EVERY weekend. Am I not addicted to them because i can 5 days without one? maybe not physically but a mental addiction/habit is pretty damn strong.

it all depends on the person and reason of quitting.
oh and ive been sober for the past 2 months

pockets were hurting from the trees

getting ready for my first class of the week,
copped a new one hitter jawn in soho last night, gotta change the color on the glass right quick................
but addicting? naw man.

imo, anything that gives you pleasure can be addictive. not inherently addictive, but the sensation you get from it can be addicting. i mean, it's the same as fapping (best metaphor to use for NTers).

the amount of false information in the drug threads on NT always cracks me up.
Kev knows what he is talking about. I have never tried smoking because of this. I get addicted very easily and as much as I hate to admit it I have very little will power to quit things and I know myself better than anyone which is why I never tried it. That and I always had access to money so I know it would be a lot worse and I really didn't feel like wasting money. There are so many people that spend 100-200 a week on weed and they have been for years. Just add it and see how much money you have wasted. You also have friends peer pressure you like oh it's only time, but for how many of you has that 1 time been 2 and the turns into cycle that you can't get out of. I have seen people heavily addicted and then I have seen people quit with ease. I grew up with a lot of smokers and I have to say it really depends on the individual.

Also people that have said they quit in this thread and it was no problem. How many of you just smoked on rare occasions with friends and never alone? It's just like those people that smoke cigarette pack a day and people that smoke weed 4-5 times a day. After awhile you just get addicted.
