What are u sippin on? VOL.......cheers

Scotch is the Whiskey that is made in Scotland (they usually spell it "whisky"). Scotch tends to be less sweet and slightly smokey compared to Whiskey that is made in Ireland, Canada or the US.
I went to the scotch experience in Edinburgh I think Scotch whisky is distilled twice, American whiskey is distilled once, and Ireland whisky is distilled 3 times. I could be wrong and have it backwards though.

Found some nice ones last week. Overpaid for the EHTBP but still lower than what I've seen them go for :ohwell:...

I don't think its a hard and fast rule for all of them (unlike mash bills and aging times and barrel types), but it does seem like Irish Whiskey is usually triple distilled and comes out pretty light in flavor and American and Scottish whiskeys/whiskys are not usually triple distilled.

How was the experience in Edinburgh? Did anything stand out?

I loved Edinburgh, matter of fact I loved all the places i went to in Scotland especially Skye, Edinburgh is picturesque, old, quaint but still loads of tourist even on off peak season.
But yeah the guy in one of the distillery's in the highlands said it can't be called scot whiskey if it's distilled more times or less, also the ingredients can differ from country to country.

There are a lot of rules regarding Scotch Whisky, but the amount of distillations isn't one of them. So triple distilled whisky can still be Scotch Whisky (Auchentoshan for instance distills 3 times). It is not common in Scotland though.

So, I guess the tour guide doesn’t know about the brand you mentioned. Btw that was at the Blair Atoll distillery.

Picked up these 2 blends. The Compass Box is a mix of 23 YO Macallan, 25 YO Highland Park, 37 YO Caol Ila and some other other 25/26 YO whiskies. Seeing as both Compass Box and Dewar's haven't disappointed me in the past, I'm hoping these will be worth it.

I have the Dewars 21 year and man that is very smooth. I'm gonna get the 28 year but I haven't seen the 32 year blend you have.

Not all tour guides are created equally lol  especially in the summer season when the regular guides are on holiday.
This was spring break lol.
Anywho the whiski experience in EDN was cool, got a free taste test at the end 5 different whiskies, and the display room was filled with bottles.😳
with Blair Atoll it was only one whiski
Taste test, not that many displays but what they did have was nice.

RIP Stella. Left my Costco, got home, cracked a case open and my smile turned upside down.
I'm not paying import pricing for beer brewed in Newark, NJ. Going to keep supporting my local brews

^very nice! never had a straight from the barrel that wasn't delicious. i prefer it over EHT barrel proof and most stagg jr's.

I’m taking a month off from drinking alcohol but I couldn’t pass up this purchase. The liquor store purposely put it on the bottom shelf, when I got to the register he said “oh, you found our Easter egg”. $27

Always great to take some time off.

WSR is drain pour status though. You’ll see once you open that. There’s nothing to it.

I had it once at a restaurant but I had a bite of my spicy chicken sandwich first and couldn’t really taste it. I bet anything will taste good once this month is up lol

Man WSR isn’t that bad to **** on it that heavily.

It’s quite comical to see these regional differences in tastes based on availability though lol. Like you’re probably getting equally as good stuff from local/nearby distilleries that I don’t get down here in Dallas.

Dude earlier had WSR hidden on the bottom shelf as a joke, that stuff is presented front and center for us here.
