What do you do for a living?

Tractor trailer driver. 28yrs old. Easy way to make a 100 racks depending on what your delivering. Especially if you have no degree. It's hard work but fun.

I got 3 of my cousins trucking. They make good bread too. Idk if I can ever do that.

As for me, I work in the IT field. I'm a lead tech for two schools. I bounce back and forth to each school daily. I'm currently looking to find another gig because, I'm starting to hate it. I still want to work in the field but in a different setting.

I also make 35k. I'm so underpaid it sucks

The total opposite. I deliver for performance food group. Driving is the least of the work, mostly it's diggin through pallets for product and hand carting it in. It could be 6 50lbs bags of potatoes up or downstairs or live lobster. I dropped weight and cut up like crazy. Tell him it's gonna be rough as hell but this the most legal paper I've ever made. That CDL will open alot of doors if you don't have a degree.

I don't want to drive trucks my whole life though. I don't want to limit my potential in life and money wise. I'm looking at all these fat nasty grotesque drivers like "that's what it looks like when you settle" lol.

I work on the manufacturing floor for Dow Chemical. Made about 50k last year im 23.

Need to go back to school. My job will pay for it. Have some credits towards a business management degree. Just need to figure out what i want to do

Growing herb is not as easy as it looks.

I had a medical card (CA resident) so with that, you are entitled to grow up to 6 plants in your home legally. I had one seed from some straight gas & I ordered some seeds online that were SUPPOSED to be genetically modified to produce a female plant (male plants produce seed sacks & if grown by a female plant, can convert your female plant into a male).

So months pass & my plants are looking real nice & one begins to bud :pimp: (you guessed it, the gas I mentioned earlier).

I'm looking at the other plants & they're looking fishy. Few days later I realize they're all ******* males! I was tight because I spent like $80 on 5 seeds that were all duds. Had to kill all of them or else my female would be contaminated.

Finally came the pruning & drying process of my only plant & of course I ****** that up somehow  :smh:

Months of money, time & effort left me with zilch :smh:

I'm a Consultant for Wells Fargo with my main role overseeing various system/app migrations. Probably the most technical position that ive ever had as most of my career was spent in strategic planning for major US banks and Healthcare consulting firms. Entrepreneur by night as well, currently working with an off-shore Dev team on a software launch. Fully vested by myself and the wife. Possibly bringing on a buddy of mine as a minority stake...maybe.

Salary is in the 6 figures. Holla.

Also don't underestimate the corporate job as being your side hustle. I know some that have it easy in their corporate job which allows them still to do their passionate job as well. Of course not all jobs work out this way but if you can do both, it's literally getting 2 incomes with one having full benefits and the other satisfying that passion for what you love to do. I know a guy that does wedding videography. It doesn't take up much of his time but he loves doing it and the money is great. He considers his corporate job his side hustle and his wedding gig his main one whenever he talks to people. I think he banks almost a $100k because of it and he loses a couple of weekends out of the year if any doing work.

This is the way I'm looking at my corporate job at 21.

Its given me a large amount of capital to start up revenue generating side hustles, looking to get into the e-commerce and affiliate marketing business. Just copped a few books and have racks saved.

Wish I had a mentor for this though

Maybe NT is not the best place for this but I am sure there are people like yourself that are online spilling some knowledge and what not. I hear you though. In a better life, you boss at your job should be your mentor but that never really is the case nowadays. It's all about me, me and me.

I have a cousin that has a friend that does HR at Apple. She helped hired the staff for the first iPhone and all the other iPhones after. She got in at a great time, has stock and makes close to $200k. Who would have thought HR would be dishing out that much nowadays. Most insurance HR departments got downsized cause everything is going electronic now.

I look at my corporate job as my side hustle too. I have a lot of flexibility here.

Same deal here, corporate gig keeps me busy but still gives me a little time at the end of the day. Planning so that within the next 2-3 years Ill be in the position to leave that and focus on my own real estate and investing.

22 / sales and merchandising for a large grocery chain

Agreed with the 1st paragraph. My manager used to be a good mentor, but I saw his true colors when **** got tough, some reshuffling happened and he got really selfish, trying to make himself look good. I understand it, but I don't have to respect it.

As of right now I work in a large machine shop building all sorts of carts for different companies

Pay is decent for what I do and if everything goes right I'll be getting a raise soon

Think I'm gonna get an a&p liscense also just for a plan b maybe , they pay more so I could use that to fuel my car dream of opening a speed shop and getting into racing (American lemans)

What can he do in IT with no college degree?
If you have the experience or technical skills then you can get a help desk type job.

I'm am example of someone with no degree and all experience but has a job in IT.

I'm curious to know how you started or what your story is. You don't have to spill the details but I'm a bio major wanting to switch to it with no CS degree. A+ certs the way to go over here in silicone valley?

Mainly my story is I know my ****. srs

I started out interning at a company called CEB back in senior year of high school. I was exposed to everything their IT department had to offer which gave me a lot of the experience I needed to get my foot in the door. I was basically a help desk tech/hardware tech, I didn't have a set position since I was a intern. Interned there again 2 more summers and after wards I was just applying to IT positions hoping to get something. Finally landed the job I'm currently at which will make it 1 year I've been there come March 3rd.

If you know how computers work, then you should be good.

Not funny, cmon man

but nah I'm a security guard got my A+ certification and soon to jump back into the IT field. After doing a internship with TD Ameritrade (didn't like it though the commute was too much of an hassle) but I''m scaling back and going to work for a smaller firm.
