I always felt like being cold was worse because if you're hot, you can just jump in the pool and you're fine.
When you're extremely cold it takes a long time to get back to normal body temp sometimes.

unbearably hot is worse. extremely hot and humid weather is disgusting. at least when its cold you can layer, and wear gloves and a hat, plus cold weather kills bacteria and insects, and its just cleaner.
