^its a pick your poison situation.

you go true to size, you have a pinky toe issue in the toebox and a tightness in the forefoot strap area. but of course, your toebox looks fine..

or..

yo go up a size and have no pinky toe issue and the toebox is a bit more roomy. which may be TOO roomy for some.

its truly a comfort vs. cosmetic issue.... Over time ive found if you stay true to size, the pinky toe issue will disappear as the leather and plastics softenup with WEAR.. But youre looking at a good 20-25 hellish wears before its broken in enough... Or you can just go up a 1/2 to full size and really have noworries at all.

regarding how the toebox looks after many wears, I can't tell the difference from my sz12 or sz13. they both age the same way.. Creasing is inevitable inboth.

thats my stance on the sizing.. others may have different p.o.v.s

If I could find a DS pair I'd scoop 'em up, but quite honestly I've got so many shoes I've been selling off a bunch including ablack/blue/white pair of AT3s from 2004 that are on eBay right now

Bottomline:

• Not a bad job by nike on this one considering it could've been worse.

• Colorwise, its like a GOLD vs. CURRY color difference or a dark mustard vs. a deep brown color. *info on page 2*
  • This can go back to the original 1989 model and how Nike views its own models

-The 2000s appear to take on the color of the aged pair. Meanwhile the 2009s take on the color of a brand new DS pair ofmed balls from 1989.
-Shape is about the same on both models.
-Toebox has its big differences.

In closing, the 2009s go back to its original color roots but leaves out a correct perf. leather pattern on top of the plasticy pleather upper. Meanwhile the2000s take on the color of an aged original, has better leathers, and correct perf. leather and tongue tagging, leaving this one as NO CONTEST.... Butrealistically not many if ANYONE can find the 2000s or 2003s and these new 2009s do fill in that void.

Cosmetic Grade: C+

I'll be back after a few wears for the more important grade in Wearability and comfort

yo thanks for takin the time to do that wally...i think we're pretty much resigned to the fact that the quality on these doesn't live up to past retroslet alone the originals. quality aside, I would be 'ok' with all those differences if the fit was still plush and smooth like previous releases but therecent retros don't do that either =( Still, seeing as this is my fave nike, I will be getting these, hopefully when there is a price drop
