Brand Jordan Edition: The Last dance Documentary.

Man this thread is like the B Grade thread of the Jordan doc.

Why aren't ya'll in the General one? Why this one too?

There’s lots of members that do not go into the General forum.
so I figured it couldn’t hurt to have this thread here in the Jordan forum, where some Jordan fans that otherwise might not see the thread in General can still have a chance to talk about the documentary.

From what I hear, the Jordan 1 Chicago has gone crazy on resell prices due to this documentary. Have 13s or 14s been affected? There was someone on ebay trying to sell his original last shots for 2 grand but that was the only I seen.

As far as this doc goes, I love seeing the old highlights and stories. But most of us have seen all this. The new interviews and perspectives are great though. More beyond the court footage of the 97-98 season is welcomed. I hope we see more of that.
MJ was humanized with his perspectives of being the kid seeking his dads approval. I love those kinds of stories.

I love Scottie, I love Huaraches, but ... I'll be honest. I had these in 11th grade. The white pair. They really kind of sucked LOL. I remember being all jazzed when I got them, but the more I wore them, not so much. They were stiff and bulky, the shape wasn't great, and that giant plastic side panel was too much. We need a PROPER retro of the OG Flight Huaraches, in the OG GR colorways plus that Chicago colorway Pip rocked. I'd kill someone for that PE

I still have my pair of Jason Kids Morph shoes. My pair are the (A) pair. They were really cool and the concept was interesting, but they didn't breath AT ALL! I wore my pair once and not even to play. Just wore them around. My feet were so hot! I couldn't even imagine playing in these. With that morph skin being all synthetic and your foot had to be a sopping mess after playing.

i used to have the white GP3s and yeah they were heavy and hot lol i got the flight glove 98 sole collector edition and those dont even break the rotation due to how uncomfortable and hot they are. at the time the came out though everybody had a pair and the concept was just crazy...

Simply can't compare a prime Rodman defensively to a Rodman at the tail end of his career.
Good defender and Great rebounder for his entire career, and never more than a role player at any time in the NBA.

I generally try to stay out of debates like this on the internet, but that's an interesting point of view. "Never more than a role player," I mean. I probably can't agree that someone who was the DPOTY and led the league in rebounding for seven consecutive seasons was a role player at every stage of his NBA career. I guess that definition fits if the only thing that matters about basketball is scoring a lot of points.

No, he was a defensive specialist. Thus a role player. A niche role.

It’s not just about scoring but that’s the largest portion of the game. High-volume score is the most meaningful or valuable aspect to basketball a player can bring.

Rodman wasn’t some all-around great player. A superstar or franchise corner stone. A specialist.

You and I have very different views about the game of basketball, which is totally fine.

was bill russell a role player?

was bill russell a role player?
No but Bill Russell did more and had way more impact than Rodman. Offensively there’s a gap in Bill’s favor. But are we taking into account leader ship? Being a teams best player and leader? Hell, a player coach? Are you really comparing those two? Ben Wallace would be a more apt comparison

Dennis was never asked or needed to be a leader. He fulfilled his expectations with Chicago. Just like he did in Detroit. A specialists? Yes. A role player? No. Ben Wallace is no comparison imo.

I just explained why and I coach AAU ... and I played. I didn’t say Rodman wasn’t important or wasn’t good. Re read with comprehension what I wrote and get back to me. Similar people have echoed what I’ve said professionally.
I re-read and still disagree. Rodman in no way was overrated with the Bulls. I’ve followed his whole career.

We all have our different views and thats cool. I'm calling him a role player because he simply never had much of an offensive game(pts or assist) in the league, not knocking him for it because he started playing so late in his life. He was Great at what he did tho, which you spoke on in your post.
And without a doubt crucial to the bulls success while he was there.
