Cleveland was more part of the "yea it might be a bigger than city that [insert smaller metro], but it still sucks," part of the sentence. But yea looking at it on wiki now, I thought Cleveland was bigger than that.

the second he steps foot in nyc nike will give him a ton of dough. he will get plenty of endorsements the first year even with no chip. plenty of businesses and chain resturants have ads specifically for new york. i remember mcdonalds and subway off the top of my head.Originally Posted by Nowitness41Dirk
LeBron won't make any more money playing in New York than anywhere else unless he's winning championships... That's the only way his marketability takes a giant leap forward..

I'm going to be completely modest when I point this out but with the new emergence of 'Cleveland Plus' which combines the cities of Cleveland, Akron, Canton and Youngstown; thats a population of 4,000,000.
Check it for yourself if you don't believe me: http://www.clevelandplus.com/thebrand.asp
Call it what you want, but thats a market equivilent to Chicago, Boston, etc. Thats not mentioning the rest of the cities in Ohio, like Cincinnati, Columbus, Toledo who all root for the Cavaliers. Thats a population of 11,000,000.
FOXsportsOHIO network caters to every city in Ohio and every Cavs game is televised on that channel.
ohio just want to band together for economic prosperity.
And what's wrong with that? You can't blame Ohio for eluding the whole 'crabs in a barrel' mentality of disregarding one another for personal rewarding. Cleveland Plus unites a region that has dealt with tough economic times and plans on banking off by coming together and being represented as one. That's the problem with today's society, people want to accredit this 'individual poverty' mind state that only holds back everyone else that wants to escape their fate. This gets deeper than basketball of course, nonetheless it reflects the comment you made.
It may sound like a bunch of words to you being on the outside looking in - but to people who've grown up in this region, this is unbelievable ideal brought to the people; by the people.
Like Meth stated when him and I had a conversation- there's an Ethiopian proverb that states "when spiders unite, they can tie up a lion". This 'Cleveland Plus' ideal is nothing less than that of a strategy.
And of course NJ, Long Island and all of the New York state would become potential customers because that's the surrounding areas. It doesn't take more than a thought to put that together...

leave, live. It was a typo. My bad, in this case it totally changes the meaning of the sentence 180 degrees.Score 1 for P.S 192.
it still doesn't make much sense because then you are saying Cleveland is a big city and in the same category as chicago population wise
oh and i went to ps 196. you were damn close

You know this happens all over the country right? We have adds with people related to Dallas/Texas that aren't going to be aired in NYC, Chicago, LA, etc...This isn't something "special" to New York.

I agree. That's a good point. Not even being sarcastic.Originally Posted by Mister Friendly

People who live in NY, LA and Chicago think everybody wants to live there but they really dont. If you're a player what does New York City have to offer you that Orlando doesnt?
Snow?
Night life? Players have enough money to fly to New York and party or fly girls from other parts of the country to their NBA city. Plus nobodys in their business and writing about it on message boards.
This aint 1986....This is 2010....the world is flat now....If you travel around, you realize everything is becoming more and more homogenic.
Then how come they don't consistently fill the arena? There's no excuse to not have a packed house there every night.Originally Posted by DubA169
