you call people from India Indians

but I just call them Natives or whatever tribe they are from

That's still disrespectful, "Natives"? They made it public that "Native American" is an offensive term, that's why you hear "American-Indian" floating around.

and they teach that "people from India" bs in school...."Indian" in many "Native" laguages means Indos...or son of God.

An Indian activist that speaks for the people has stated that "Native American" is offensive because of it's nature and prefers "Indian"

met one when I worked at CiCi's pizza. Dude came in and was eating pizza and cinnabons and @*!+, I was look at him like shouldn't you be eating maize. I'm part Cherokee though

I was gonna go there, but went to ECU instead. Me and my co workers be bugging out because the Lumbees be wylin. I didn't know that there were any NTers from that area my cousin runs track out there, and yes some Indian women look amazing in person.

.

Native Americans have it easy now..
Dudes get mad dough from being in certain "Tribes".

Children under the age of 18 even get sneaker / clothing money from tribes..

Over the past few weeks we've been getting print outs ranging from $80-100 that were able to be used at our Footlocker at the mall all were from Tribes & Casino's.

My dad has always said he is 1/8th Cherokee. He claims the proof is that my Aunt Gloria has good hair. He also says that's why my cousins (The Puryears) are such wild partiers.

The only time, I've seen what I've know to be NAs, was one time at MGM Studios down at Disney, there was a family, and the dad had the ill mohawk braid down to his butt.

It's painfully clear y'all don't know what the hell you're talking about.  Stop talking about **@% you don't know about.  Indians have rates comparable and often worse than Black folks when it comes to things like poverty, alcoholism and drug addiction, infant mortality, high school dropout rate, unemployment, etc.

Like someone else stated, A VERY FEW Native Americans are wealthy from casinos.  SOME of them "share" some of that money with CERTAIN people from their tribe.  Ain't no damn $10,000 monthly government or casino check for every member of a tribe.  The vast majority of Indians are extremely impoverished.

So what are we supposed to call people from India?

Freshman year of college (2007) I had two friends from the Santee res in Nebraska and one from Crow Creek in South Dakota.

Let me show you a small selection from the wiki on Crow Creek's largest town.

The median income for a household in the CDP was $9,191, and the median income for a family was $9,191. Males had a median income of $19,375 versus $18,750 for females. The per capita incomefor the CDP was $4,030. About 64.0% of families and 64.6% of the population were below the poverty line, including 70.1% of those under age 18 and 58.1% of those age 65 or over.

Sounds really easy.
Let's compare that to some places that NTers frequently refer to as "hoods"... like Trenton, NJ

The median income for a household in the city was $31,074, and the median income for a family was $36,681. Males had a median income of $29,721 versus $26,943 for females. The per capita income for the city was $14,621. About 17.6% of families and 21.1% of the population were below the poverty line, including 26.8% of those under age 18 and 19.5% of those age 65 or over.

or East St. Louis, IL
The median income for a household in the city is $21,324, and the median income for a family is $24,567. Males have a median income of $27,864 versus $21,850 for females. The per capita income for the city is $11,169. 35.1% of the population and 31.8% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total population, 48.6% of those under the age of 18 and 25.2% of those 65 and older are living below the poverty line.

These dudes I knew used to tell me stories about murders, robberies, drugs, alcoholism, gangs, suicide, gambling, you name it. Wild stuff. These kids were great guys (and one of them was sick at basketball), but they ultimately dropped out largely due to involvement with pills, weed, and hard liquor.

YES, some tribes are loaded due to their association with casinos. There are tribes on the east coast where families get payouts of close to $1 million a year from the casino. BUT no one wants to build a casino in South Dakota or Nebraska... the majority of native americans are still downtrodden and stricken with poverty.

Not to mention the irreversible damage that white America has done to their culture through several centuries of basically repeatedly lying to them and at one point, pretty much doing their best to wipe them out (trail of tears). These beautiful cultures have been nearly forgotten, and their people are now reduced to trailer homes on rural land that no one else wants. Accuse me of white guilt, fine, but these people got done DIRTY.

As far as the term Natives being offensive, the people I know don't care but I usually hear them call themselves Indians.
I had to get used to saying south Asian Indians in conversations instead of saying just "Indians" though lol.
As far as them having it made. No where close. All those hardships he faces contribute to me still getting over that breakup. No.

Calm down. Yes my statement was generalized but all of the Indians that I have met have been very well off. I made the roll number as a joke...maybe one in bad taste. So my apologies if anyone was offended.
