Very true, but her grandfather grew up on a Cherokee reservation. I know what you mean though.

I know a lotta seminoles down here in south florida. For sure, some tribes get taken care of, but most dont. Native Americans have the highest rates of domestic violence, alcohol abuse and drug addiction (at least they did a few years ago). Life aint all wonderful for them believe that.

My friend is half native american half german. He is 6 foot 6 and his middle name is bigfeather. His father's name is Wolf lol

Its not the government homie. If the tribe has a casino, they use those profits to look out for those who are in the tribe. The Onondaga are the only tribe in the nation (Haudesaunee) that doesn't do this because they choose to remain the nation's spiritual leader.

You probably know him or some of his family then he'd be surprised to know I have any fam. near him lol.
 Since I been here my grandma has been revealing more family to me from all over this weird state.
 
Went to school @ KU and Haskell University is right down the street so I knew lots of Natives. They would always come down and ball w/ us and play what is known as "Rez Ball" lol.

As far as payments go its all about your tribe. I know a lot of tribes in Oklahoma have it good because they own casinos or let casinos be built on their land. One of the richest tribes is out East and they own a casino in Connecticut that is very successful. They sponsor and host one of the largest pow wow's in the US and the prize is ridiculous.

I always joke w/ my friends that just about everybody and they momma claim to be Cherokee. Sure enough, last night watching the games at a bar I met two more girls who claimed they were Cherokee, lol.
 
Where they do the free tuition at?? I'm part native and am actually enrolled in a north dakota tribe. I owe like 3 grand in loans still!

true story, I live in Syracuse and we have a reservation not too far out. Cigarettes for the cheap (although not so cheap anymore). I know a couple of cool Natives in fact I went to a bachelor party for my boy and all of his boys were Natives. These dudes were huge, no mo... like 6'5 240 with two big braids and shhh. Good people tho.. one of the most fun bachelor parties I ever been to
 
Don't know if anyone knew...but the politically correct term "Native American" is actually deemed offensive and they preferred to be called "Indians"
 
I live in Canada... I've met hundreds.

I haven't met one that didn't have a criminal record, history of substance abuse, ability to hold a job, etc.

The here racism is really bad... but without even generalizing I have NEVER met one who was a contributing member of society.

Which would be because of the benefits/lack of law enforcement on reservations.
 
Yup, I have met and knew one in the past way back in elementary school.
Also dated some girls who were mixed with a quarter or an eighth of Native American (one was Cherokee another was Navajo). I haven't met a full blooded one that was fine. It was always the mixed ones that got me

you call people from India Indians 

but I just call them Natives or whatever tribe they are from

Natives are the strongest dudes I have ever met or played sports against. But like you guys, you are bound to know some true natives if you live in upstate new york. 
Every one I know is really cool, but some are bitter towards white people still.

But reservations are sh1tholess. No police and nothing is kept up.
