First of all, I work 2 jobs, going to school taking 8 credit hours, look out for my mom, while maintaining a house that I recently bought.
I had to call in today because I was given 24 hours to turn in a paper that was late yesterday. Since I have school tues & thurs, those are my assigned days off from work. But with everything thats been going on between filing a lawsuit, trying to maintain a relationship, getting my trip to europe in order and getting the new house organized... it's hard to make ends meet (time wise). So after I call in, my boss said cool, no problem. 15 minutes later pretty much called back to give me an ultimatum. And that was to figure out if I wanna keep working there because he needs an extra hand and me randomly calling in due to personal reasons is not helping.

I don't have a degree yet and seeing how the job market is, I don't think it's a good idea to quit that job since it's barely a full time job.

I just feel swamped out of my mind. I wish my folks would've told me adulthood was gonna be this hard

Anybody else got a situation like this going on? How do you do it?

I know that feel bro. How did i do it? i stopped doing it. The stress of stretching yourself that thin isn't worth it. You're a different person when you're doing that, people notice.

If it was me I would have told my manager "eat a phallus, i'm not coming in". But i keep it real which tends to go wrong

If you keep forcing it, the rubberband will pop eventually.

Step back for a second and reassess before its too late.

If you have a good record at work, you should tell him that. Your academics are more important than this crap part time job. Tell him that you need the day off and that you'll make it up when you come back in.

OP I still havent figured it out. I work a sales job basically from 11-9 T-Sa. Monday nights I go to school for my MBA from 530-930. I have twin girls and am not yet married so I go by there in the morning and when I get home usually.

It seems so easy to say use better time management, but it is truly easier said then done. I still need to find time to work out and for leisure.

Any tips will be appreciated.

sounds just like my situation but don't burn that bridge

Since my dad passed in september, I've been running into problems after problems. I can honestly say that I get a few breaks here and there, but it seems like everytime I take 2 steps forward, I take 4 steps back. Maybe I need to think about this some more and prioritize a little bit more.

If i call in to work, i immediately turn off my phone. I've had plenty of bosses who tried to change my mind. They always try and guilt trip you. I would have been like deuces and kept it moving. Unless youabsolutly needed the money.

Yep...I felt the exact same way. Quit both jobs and work hard on finding 1 that pays more than both (don't believe the hype, there are jobs out here). I was working a dead end job for two years, it had me thinking crazy $#%$ and questioning a lot of things in my life, not to mention raising a newborn, HUGE relationship problems, and bills starting to pile up...That was about a month ago. I quit my job, went on a EXTENSIVE job search, and in one week I got called for a job as a blackjack dealer at the casino. Training will be over in a few weeks and when it is, I will be making more money working part time in 1 week then i did working full time at my job in 2 weeks.

You can't sit around and wait for things to get easier on their  own, you gotta go out and make it happen for yourself. Once you do, you'll feel a hell of a lot better.
