The Official NBA Thread: PLAYOFFS

Generational players
Wilt
Russell
Dr J
Kareem
Magic
Bird
Jordan
Shaq
AI
Vince
Kobe
Steph
Lebron
Wemby - next

Julius, Vince and AI are the only non goat level players on there because what they did for basketball can’t be understated. They definitely are not generational from a pure basketball impact (eg Tim Duncan or Hakeem is better easily for example) but basketball is what it is because of them. Generational requires talent and face of the league innate charisma. They were low on the talent and impact side and goats at the other side.

KD the opposite, yo was the 1st 7 foot SG but nobody likes him and he has no fans

Lakers don't want that smoke. They oughta tank and get ready for Phoenix.
9/10 seed is set up for failure.

2 “playoff” games then a matchup with the #1 seed who’s been off for a week while you’ve had a game every other day.

Lakers lose the tiebreaker to the kings for #8, so Lakers can’t tank.

Stop it, you know exactly why AI got a statue. Same reasons why EVERYONE loves him and one of the most influential players ever.
And it’s a team award/recognition, like having a Jersey retired. It’s not the hall of fame. Franchises can honor whoever they want based on whatever criteria they want, IMO.

Iverson is one of the most beloved Sixers ever. More than enough to warrant a stature at a team building.

Yeah, that makes sense.

Phoenix gotta go to Minnesota with potential one-seed implications on the line, so it may not matter.
