Carpenter has pitched half the amount of innings. Johan had nearly identical numbers with Carpenter's innings. Johan has a lower ERA, lower WHIP, lowerBAA, more K's and less walks than Cain. How is Cain>Santana, unless you mean Ervin?

Zack Duke.

Fun fact: The Pirates have scored a combined four runs in Zach Duke's four losses.

One of the starts happened to be Duke's lone bad performance of the season (6 runs on 12 hits in 6 innings), but the other three, he gave up a combinedseven runs.

He could very well be 9-1 right now.

He's pitched the most innings in the National League (third most in baseball), and has the 7th best ERA (11th in baseball) and the 8th best WHIP (13th inbaseball).

As of right now: Carpenter > Cain > Santana

Coming from a clown who said Johan would be a bust with the Mets, you really aren't the brightest bulb in the pack.

And he'll be traded next week

Stop it. Stanism (it ain't a word but it fits) is terrible on NT. Give Johan some run support (never gets it when he starts) and no one isseeing him. He had a bad game today but who doesn't?

Come on Pat...you're better than that. Billingsley is good but not seeing Cain the way he is pitching right now. 3 CG's already too

ASG Starter!

Lincecum = 9 IP 0 ER 8 K's
Cain = 9 IP 1 ER 9'K's

Cain has been great this season and he will be in the mix the whole year, as will Lincecum. But I think the most underrated pitcher in the bigs is this guy:

Shut down the Yankess tonight and has been terrific all year long, if he can keep it going he could easily take the CY.

Cain and Holland both pitched GEMS tonight... Damn shame neither of them earned decisions, both efforts deserved to be rewarded with the W...

When's the last time two pitchers from the same team were 1st and 2nd in Cy Young voting? Randy Johnson and Curt Schilling come to mind, but does anyoneknow if they finished 1,2?

johnson and schilling came 1,2 in 2001 and 2002.

this year cain and lincecum have a great shot to complete that feat, but voting will ultimately decide that.

on a side not, check out johnsons stikeout numbers in his cy young award years (1999-2002). absolutely ridiculous.

Interesting...Ya know, I wish I could've seen Koufax play because I'm curious as to how much better this guy was than RJ. Everyone who has compared thetwo and seen both play have said that Koufax > Randy. All I know is, I grew up watching Randy and he's amazingly dominant....Over a long period.
