because they think they are the best because they got a badge, if u ever stop me on base and I see u with civilian clothes on its a wrap no questions asked. Thats why they separate the MPS from us they live in their own buidling because if they lived with us dudes would be hurt all the time. They try and stop you for stupid crap to get your license taken away on base.Originally Posted by ProperLive

its not bad , but u know once i get that butter bar me being enlisted first I'll get more than a regular butter barbut im good right now im not struggling at all. it all depends on where you go.
lol why do you hate mps?
I'm and admin dude and i am not hardcore watsoever. Im just a regular dude im mad belligerent
MP: "You know you were doing 25 in a 20 what if someone kid was out here?"
My Boy: "Well if someone kid is out at 4 in the morning you need to arrest the Parents for letting they *%# out."
MP: "Carry on"
Oh and how they set my dude up pulling him over for going 2 miles over the speed limitand searching his car cause there was an open container of alcohol and finding a concealed weapon yea they are some $$$$ for real
Also up until 2011 or 2012 the Marine Corp is paying off all Subsidized Stafford Loans up to 30k. But yea he is right seeing how the moneyisn't there don't join for that. I am just happy that I have an opportunity to be an African American Officer in the Marines tome its like an honorseeing as how the history of Black Commissioned officers but make sure you want to do it cause you be one of those dudes ending up to regret itOriginally Posted by lee the turntablist
dont forget commisioning bonuses
also a 2nd lieutenant pay is basically like that of a gunnery sergeant - if that helps see the difference in pay between enlisted and officers
It goes by real quickly my dude trust me. There is only one Officer Selection Officer (OSO) in most major D-1 regions. So him referring you to himhe wont get anything from it he just looses a potential Recruit. He just probably thought it would be a better use of your time to try getting a commissionoppose to going to recruit training.Originally Posted by HOOPSboy
Question:
I had a recruiter talk to me and he said he could refer me to the officer recruiter (I just graduated college in December). Does he get a bonus if he refers me? Or should I just cut him out and go straight to the officer recruiter?
And I'll be straight up. The only reason I am having doubts about OCS is because of the 4/8 year commitment. I just got out of college in which I played sports for 3 years and it seriously felt like an eternity and something I have no desire to do again (well at least the school part). Being 23 now and getting out when I'm 27 seems like forever away
if you get a scholarship from the Army, Marines, or Navy they pay for your whole tuition wherever and also get a stipend depending onclass(250fresh, 300soph, 350junior, 400senior monthly) and all officers get subordinates...Originally Posted by ThrowedInDaGame
You get chump change.
Go to West point and become an officer if you want decent starting salary. My boy goes to west point for free, gets an additional stipend and says hes going to have subordinates upon graduation.

U remember mondays was uniform inspection , its stilll there but not as intense.... No "IP" checks , wrinkles are never there and bootsare nubuck so it dont really matter... the corps has changed a little bit.... I was the last dude rocking OG cammies ... the stopped wearing them in Oct05.....Originally Posted by i3allistic

Hey Takeover, I am currently a nuke in the navy. You don't have to be on a sub, I was on a carrier from 02-07. If you have any questions just post or PM. I do have my degree in Nuclear Engineering and can tell you about both sides (officer and enlisted). Bonuses reach almost 90K for 6 years if you are enlisted.
