Did anyone watch Ahmadinejad on Larry King?

Does Ahmadinejad make good points? Yes, he certainly does.  That doesn't excuse him for being a tyrant though and all this coming out of his mouth is meaningless

For all the people that defend this dude, they are truly oblivious.  Go see the human rights violations that he commits in his own country, and how horrible he has been for Iran economically.  America has been dead wrong with their approach to the Middle East for the past 40 or so odd years.  We have committed atrocities and war crimes, that people should be punished for.  But let's not pretend that these areas and countries are places of enlightenment and liberty.  Most of these Islamic countries are places of grave oppression and subjugation, where women and average citizens are robbed of human decency regularly.  Islam is not an evil religon, but it is going through a period similar to what Christianity did in the dark ages (and what the Conservative Right Wing is trying to created in the world now).

And for all the Holocaust stuff, its whatever I don't even feel like addressing it.  As someone who has Holocaust survivors in my own family I've come to accept people will try to create the Jews out to be evil no matter what.  A niketalker sent me a video the other day that was filled with anti-semetic crap about how the Rothsteins secretly control the world.  Half of this Illuminati crap is veiled Anti-Semetism.  The whole development of this Illumnati %*+! is just filled with so much Psuedo-intellectualism.  I think some of it is guided in the right direction but it generally misses the point of why and how we are taken advantage of every day.

That doesn't mean Israel is completely innocent. There has the development of a Holocaust economy that has exploited the event in some way for personal gain.  No denying that.  The handling of the West Bank and Gaza territories has been awful by Israel and will eventually come back to hurt them in the long run.

I agree with the statement about him making good points but being a hypocrite, however so are we. How can we vilify him when we're just as tyrannical in our use of force across the world? When our President can call for the assassination of an American citizen? When the government can tap our phones without our knowledge then retroactively pass a law that makes it legal when the people find out? When the government then tries to do the same thing with what we do on the internet? When it's legal to bypass due process in the name of national security?
Also, one of the primary reasons that the Middle East isn't a bastion of Democracy and a beacon such as the Western world is in fact because of the Western world. From European imperialism of the region to American military dominance (by itself and by proxy) we have caused the surge of Islamism. The Middle East was not always a region filled with religious extremists fueled by religious rhetoric. This has come about recently due to the numerous defeats of Arabs at the hands of Israeli forces. Arab Nationalism had failed them so they decided to go a different way.

We (read: the West) have created the situation of extremism in the region. We have only exacerbated it by allying ourselves with dictators and allowing these regimes to stay in power where we see fit, such as in Egypt, Saudi Arabia and elsewhere. However we're attempting to bring Democracy to the region? Clearly we've done a very good job in Afghanistan.

As someone who is a Jew, the Zionists actually perpetuated the Holocaust and actually exacerbated the problem for the Jews in Europe even before they were put into concentration camps, that whole situation could have been avoided. The Zionists made deals with Adolf Eichmann to release only the "rich" Jews so they could bring them into Palestine and start developing.

Ahmadinejad does make good points when he talks, but at the same time he's a walking big conglomerate of irony.

Huh? Muhammad himself started his own crusade in the city of Tabuk and forced people to abide by 3 rules, fight or die, convert, or pay the jizya.

He's a scumbag through and through.

You can smile and say nice things but that doesn't absolve you of the fact that you and your government are a bunch of scumbags.

Why not? We tell the entire world how to live under this beautiful guise of Democracy and we drop bombs in countries for no reason and we have 100 times as much scumbags as they do.

There were deals to get a few Jews released but you make it seem like some conspiracy...They were able to save a few, rich and influential Jews from the Holocaust, it is not like they were going to release everybody. If they could have saved everybody they would have.  There is no way that problem could have been avoided.  The banks collasped in Germany, and the state fell to pieces.  They needed someone to crucify for their problems and the Jews were an easy target.  Most Jews were campaigning for Zionist causes pre WW-II Germany.

Nationalism is ******ed as a whole, but the fact is, its the world we live in the modern times.  I personally have no problems with the concept of Zionism just how it has been executed to subjugate others.  Herzl himself outlined Zionism to be peaceful and to treat Minority groups with full representation and respect.

Despite his own problems with his country and his presidency , this man is very smart. Every time he made a point, that old fart Larry went to commercial. You can't deny the truth he spoke.

Who are we to say who should have nuclear bombs and who should not?

Why don't we go after that crazy looney dude in North Korea
