OP. you're lucky to have parents who care about your needs and your own life
Do you have any family around you?
Do your parents have any close friends who could be a sort of surrogate family for you?
Tell your parents your concern...while they may immediately react by pulling the deal off...tell them that this should indeed show that you're being mature and thoughtful about the situation.

What about your family and your uncle? He's suffering from a terminal illness and all you can think about is you?
Your parents are under enough stress as it is. Don't make this any harder for them.

get them as a roommate. you get money and you aren't living alone. Problem solved.
Well I asked my boyfriend to move in - but the only problem is he lives in NJ now and goes to school there. He thinks thatit will be too far of a commute to go to and from school.Originally Posted by AllenIversonFan01
Get a friend to move in with you or your man if you dont wanna live alone. Trust you dont wanna give up a rent stabilize apartment in NY. Especially 800 a month for a two bedroom. But like its been said you do seem like you just wanna live with your parents forever. I mean If my parents was about to pay for an apartment then I would be there in a second. Just always have someone at the crib wit you to chill if you dont want a roommate. But if being alone is your main problem I dont see why you couldnt have one of your friends move in with you. Hell charge em 2 or 300 a month im sure anyone would jump at that in NY. And thats pocket money for you.
Then what exactly are you asking?Originally Posted by gORJESS

I do feel like I may be acting a little selfish. It is a tough situation to be in. I dont know if it is realistic at all for me personally to uproot my entire life & the plans I had for the future. I would not really be much help over there. Im not saying im not going to go over there once a month or how ever many times I can and visit but living there I dont think is an option for me.
If that's your biggest problem than you really don't have one. Don't act like your boyfroend wont be staying over most of the time tooOriginally Posted by gORJESS
