So I work at a high rise condo with my dad. My dad has been working there for over 15 years as a porter. I work there part-time as a valet attendant on the weekends. It was a cool job while it lasted, Im'a college student and the job paid well plus tips. I wasn't complaining. But recently new management has shooken everything up. Three workers had been fired in the past 6 months, there are around 20 Full-time workers there including my pops. So for some reason, the new manager has not been very fond of my dad. When not busy, I try to help my dad in whatever ways I could at work. For example, he has to take out the building garbage from the compactor and throw it outside in the designated dumpsters. Those garbage bags can get heavy, over 150pounds. So the Super of the building also partners up with the manager, and it's as if they want to get rid of all the older employees to hire new employees at a cheaper wage. When the three workers were fired, they were replaced by the Super's friends. So today I see the manager calls my dad into the office. About a half hour later, he calls me and tells me that they just fired him. I was so heated, I was in shock. So my dad played it cool, and plans to appeal through the union. But that's another headache, they are a bunch of crooks also who just want to collect fees. So I walked into the manager's office, and I cursed out both the manager and super. I let them have it. I felt like Joe Pesci dropping so many F-Bombs. In the heat of the moment, I was so caught up that I let my emotions get the best of me.
I think what I did was right to a certain extent. But my friend is telling me that I should have stayed. I told him I can't stay at the same job where they just fired my dad, that's not the environment I would wanna work in.
So what would you have done NT?
BTW, sorry for the long read, just venting.
