silly me.

You have to understand the context behind the Dr. Seuss cartoons. Of course they are unacceptably stereotypical, but his primary purpose with those comics wasto engender support for the war cause, which he deemed more important than political correctness. He was attacking isolationists more than foreign countries.

i guess i have a hard time understanding your point here? what exactly offends you about these?

Dirty don't tell me this is the first time you saw this. I remember in high school (about 4 years ago), Barnes and Noble had a book of all of his drawingslike this.

and frankly as a fan of blaxplotation movies....i find the sheer audacity of these highly amusing and shamlessly indulging from a pure nostalgic factor.

Thanks Pooh Bears.

I see a lot of stereotypes being played out, but nothing I can say is overly offensive. I'm curious thought, what are you offended by? Because someone isportraying somebody in a stereotypical fashion?

I learned about all this in my History of Motion Pictures class.

Hella cartoons were mad racist back in the day.

So before this you thought of Dr. Seuss as some mythical figure who was somehow above the pitfalls of his time period? I think your offense comes from yournaivety, not the content.
