edit nvm article is from a week ago. Someone asked for Sakaguchi to come to next gen earlier but he’s been aprroached multiple times over the years and has no interest in big scale development.

It’s been like this throughout the generation. Sony stepped into help fund FF Versus 13/XV because SE had gone insanely over budget and needed to figure out how to get the game out and recoup something. I guarantee the next mainline FF will be at minimum a timed exclusive.
